Stark County Hunger Task Force
Mission Statement
The board members of the Stark County Hunger Task Force
believe that in any community a number of individuals will
experience a crisis during their lifetime in which they are
unable to provide adequate food for themselves and their
families. It is our goal to depend on the generosity of our
neighbors for assistance to satisfy that basic need.
Who We Are
Since 1981, the Stark County Hunger Task Force has taken a
positive role in battling the hunger needs of the community
of Stark County. We originated with a handful of pantries
and a few hundred visitors each month. There are currently
two dozen pantries of which we support -- who feed a total
of 15,000 people every month.
Fundraising Significance
Even without the current economic struggles, our needs and
numbers of people who need assistance continue to grow.
Provided the current economy, those numbers are growing much
more quickly than years past. Hence, the significance of
fundraisers such as this are of the utmost importance. We
are fighting everyday to satisfy the basic need – hunger.
You cannot tackle all of life’s other issues if you cannot
satisfy your first and most basic need for you and your
family.
Community Impact
The Stark County Hunger Task Force expands into every
corner, center, city and town of Stark County. Contributions
to the Stark County Hunger Task Force allow the community as
a whole, the Stark County community, to prosper from the
generosity of those amongst us. Your impact may appear
across the county or it may occur at your neighbor’s dinning
room table. Regardless, the impact is endless and powerful
in our aim to end hunger in Stark County.
With hope and the generosity of others, we will continue our
response to hunger. It starts with a dollar. Every $1 allows
us to provide seven pounds of food to those in need in Stark
County. Join our fight against hunger and help provide full
stomachs, full hope!
